Taos BC Forum Rules of Conduct

V1

Posts & comments that do not abide by the following rules of conduct may be removed without notice. Please read!

  1. Please be cordial and appropriate. Keep a positive attitude and be nice, respectful, and courteous to fellow forum users. If you wish to argue about something or use inappropriate emotions, there are other sites for that.
  2. Accounts must be real - i.e. to use our forums you must be a real person who has a legitimate interest in participating in these discussions, and/ or is seeking information about a specific area to plan a trip or gain knowledge about the mountains and routes, for example. We vet every submission and will not accept anonymous representatives of organizations who may try to post spam or sway conversations towards a specific beneficial-to-them angle.
  3. You are solely responsible for any content you post. Don’t post copyrighted material if you don’t have documented permission to use it. Sharing links to public content such as YouTube videos for example is fine if it’s related to the topic of discussion.
  4. Keep conversations on-topic. Please refrain from expanding discussions into unrelated areas. If you wish to create a new topic of discussion or a new thread send us a message and we’ll determine if it is an appropriate fit to add at this time.
  5. Please keep any discussions regarding inbounds at ski areas relative to backcountry and wilderness, and public lands access. We are not affiliated with nor involved with any privately owned ski areas or resorts, or any land management agencies.
  6. Don’t post any spam or advertisements, any such posts will be removed. Our goal is to provide a discussion forum specifically about backcountry skiing and snowboarding, and public lands access in our region of New Mexico, for the greater community of individuals whose way of life includes or even revolves around these activities.
  7. No soliciting. Advertising, initiating the sale of goods or services, or posting links to other sites where goods or services are for sale is not allowed. Depending on user feedback, we may create a forum where post links to sell goods service on other sites will be allowed (but not currently).
  8. Events, fundraisers, etc.; If there’s an event coming up which utilizes public lands or is directly related to a local organization involved with public lands access or the backcountry community, send us a link and we’ll post it if appropriate.
  9. Any content advocating for, promoting, implying intent to conduct or participate in, or otherwise including any serious illegal activities will be removed.

Be safe, have fun, and we hope you can utilize this forum as a resource to share knowledge, passion, and education. As a backcountry skier, snowboarder, hiker, hunter, and any other categorical recreationist, it’s important to have a quiver of resources that fits one’s style. We hope that this can be one of many resources for you to use.
